FIVE DOCK RSL COMMUNITY CLUB LTD. ELECTION NOTICE 2026
The Five Dock RSL Community Club Ltd. has engaged Australian Election Company as the Returning Officer to conduct the election for the following offices:
• Ordinary Director (7 to be elected)
General Information for Nominees and Nominators:
Pursuant to the Constitution of the Club, the only members qualified to be elected or appointed to the Board of Directors of the Club shall be:
(a) Life members;
(b) Service members;
(c) Associate members.
No less than four (4) Directors at any one time shall be Service members who are financial members of the Five Dock R.S.L. Sub Branch or Life members of the Club.
In order to be eligible to nominate for election to the Board of Directors a member must have been a full member of the Club for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years immediately prior to his/her nomination.
The following members shall not be eligible to stand for or be elected or appointed to the Board.
A member who:
(1) Is currently under suspension, or has been cited to appear before the Board on any charge and has been found guilty of such charge within the period of two (2) years immediately prior to the date determined for the next meeting of members at which Directors are or a Director is to be elected;
(2) at any time been convicted of an indictable offence;
(3) is prohibited from being a director by reason of any order or declaration made under the Act, Liquor Act, Registered Clubs Act or any other applicable legislation;
(4) is disqualified from managing any company under the Act;
(5) an employee of the club, or a former employee of the Club whose services were terminated by the Board of Directors or the Chief Executive Officer.
Nominations:
Nominations for election to the Board must be made in writing, signed by either two (2) Life or Service Members or one (1) Service or Life Member and one (1) Associate Member, and by the nominee who must also signify his or her consent to the nomination.
Nominations may be made at any time from 10:00 am on Tuesday 7th April 2026. Nominations must reach the Secretary no later than 4:00pm on Thursday 23rd April 2026. Nominations can be withdrawn at any time prior to the commencement of voting.
Nomination Forms:
Nomination forms and accompanying Statutory Declarations are available from the Secretary (CEO) of the Club. The Nomination form must be fully completed and lodged with the Secretary prior to the close of nominations for the nomination to be accepted. The Statutory Declaration, under the Oaths Act (NSW) 1900, must be witnessed by either a Justice of the Peace, a Lawyer or a Notary Public.
Director Identification Number (DIN)
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulations require persons acting as Directors or wishing to become a director to have a Director Identification Number (DIN). A DIN must be provided to the Club before any member can be declared elected to the Board.
Election Canvassing
No member shall distribute or cause to be distributed any "how to vote" documents or other documents promoting a candidate for election or canvassing votes in any way connected with the ballot either within or outside the premises of the Club.

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS
Candidates may submit a statement being not more than 100 words and may also include a recent photo (in Jpeg format). The statement must not be defamatory, offensive or misleading. Candidate statements may be submitted via the nomination form by not later than 4:00pm on Thursday 23rd April 2026.
Ballot and Ballot Draw:
If a ballot is necessary, a draw for positions on the Ballot paper will be conducted externally by Australian Election Company at 10am on Friday 24th April, 2026. If required, polling will be conducted on the Club’s premises from Sunday 17th May 2026 to Wednesday 20th May 2026, between the hours of 1pm to 7pm on each of the polling days.
